Groomsmen>> Get Great Accessories for Your Groomsmen

Your groomsmen are a good-looking bunch of guys -- emphasize those looks with a great tux or suit and equally great accessories! Whether your wedding leans toward casual or formal, pick out an ensemble that reflects the style and the personality of your crew.

What should I consider when dressing my groomsmen?

Work with a common theme, so all the groomsmen reflect the same style. Here are the basics:

  • Learn lapel guidelines. Usually about 3½ inches wide, lapels should extend to just short of the halfway mark between the collar and the shoulder line. Try a three-button tuxedo with a peak or notch lapel; it looks great on all body types.

  • Select a flattering jacket. The double-breasted jacket should always be kept closed, or it bunches around the middle. Otherwise, leave the bottom button of a jacket or vest open. Morning coats are an elegant choice, especially for a daytime wedding. A four-button tuxedo is another hip, classic alternative.
